The Road Less Traveled

Hidden deep in the Arctic interior. Far from the crowds.
A winding river flows through a dense forest with autumn foliage surrounded by rolling hills and distant mountains under a clear sky.

The Arctic Interior

Dividola is situated in the majestic Dividalen, a valley known for its dry climate and pristine wilderness.
The "Inland Advantage":
  • Clearer Skies: Being inland, away from the coast, often means less cloud cover. This makes Dividalen statistically one of the best places in Scandinavia to spot the Northern Lights.
  • Real Winter: Here, the snow stays white and the cold is crisp. It is a true winter wonderland.
  • Silence: We are located far from the cruise ships and bus tours of Tromsø. Here, you have the wilderness to yourself.

By Air

The journey is easier than you think. You have two main airport options.
Option A: Bardufoss Airport (BDU) – The Insider's Choice
  • Distance: Approx. 45-60 minutes drive.
  • Connections: Daily direct flights from Oslo (OSL) with SAS or Norwegian.
  • Why choose this: Small, efficient, and located very close to the cabin. You avoid the city traffic.
Option B: Tromsø Airport (TOS) – The Arctic Hub
  • Distance: Approx. 2 hours drive.
  • Connections: International direct flights (London, Frankfurt, etc.) and frequent domestic flights.
  • Why choose this: If you want to combine your stay with a city break in "The Paris of the North" before heading into the wild.

On the Road

A scenic drive through the mountains.
To fully experience the freedom of the north, we highly recommend renting a car at the airport. The drive to Dividola is scenic, taking you through mountain passes and along frozen (or rushing) rivers.
Road Conditions: The roads are well-maintained and plowed in winter. However, winter tires (studded) are standard and essential.
Transfers: Prefer not to drive? We can arrange private pickup from Bardufoss or Tromsø upon request. Please contact us for a quote.
